Ready for the new season or NOT?

After a successful first season, FC Tiki Taka has finished in a runner-up position : the 2nd position in XFA Qual League D, even if we have underachieved in the rankings.(around 200).

Therefore, a place in XFA Premier League has been assured. A new challenge, an exciting one, but is the team ready?! We will see. In the meantime, i have tried to strengthen the squad. Let's introduce some old and new FC Tiki Taka stars.

• From the initial squad:

Christian Gimenez, a 28 y.o. pacey striker, is an Argentine football forward whose career highlights include helping FC Basel win the Swiss League championship titles in 2002, 2004 and 2005. In 2001 and 2002 he was also the top scorer in the Swiss league.


Hugo Viana, a 26 y.o.playmaker, is a Portuguese football player. He plays for Valencia CF as an attacking midfielder, with good set-pieces and passing skills.

• Purchased during the season :

Lorenzo De Silvestri, a 20 y.o wonderkid, is a very promising Italian football defender currently playing for S.S. Lazio. De Silvestri plays as an attacking right full back, known in Italian as a terzino destro. His pace is useful for his attacking runs up the wing, and possibly his greatest attribute.


Samir Handanovič, a 24 y.o Goalkeeper, is a Slovenian football player of Bosnian descent who plays for Udinese Calcio.


Francisco Javier "Maza" Rodríguez Pinedo, a 27 y.o defender, is a Mexican football player, recently signed by PSV Eindhoven.

• Players purchased between seasons, through end of contract wage auction:

Simon Rolfes, a 27 y.o. defensive midfielder, is a German footballer who plays for Bayer Leverkusen. Rolfes wears the number 6 for national and club play.


Iannis Alin Zicu, a 25 y.o. attacking midfielder, is an ex-Inter Milano Romanian football player who plays for Dinamo Bucureşti.


Next target : A good WBL/DL, and maybe we will not relegate :)

FC TIKI TAKA - The beginning

Hey guys,

My name is Alin, a 24th years old romanian dude that enjoyes the FM series. My story starts in March 2008, when, in one of my cranky days at the office, i took a little break to check my personal e-mail. To my surprise, i have received an invitation to be a beta tester of this game. From then, i enjoyed the upsets and the success of my beta test team: Rapid Team, in GW2 - To Madeira.


With Rapid Team, i have succeeded to end the GW 5th in the World Rankings. It was something great for me, because i've started to play in GW2 6 months after the launch. So, i was behind everyone with everything : skills, training, players etc.


A couple of weeks ago, i've started a new journey with a new team, in one of the paid GW, Lineker. My new team name is FC Tiki Taka. Why did i choosed this name? It's simple: The European Football Cup, most exactly the champions: Spain. Tiki-taka is apparently a Spanish nonsense phrase to describe how Spain plays, with lots of fast, crackling short passes. To me, that was the most impressive aspect of the new Euro champions, and I hope it's an inspiration to every FML club everywhere.

I hope i will find the time to update often this FML blog and that each one of you will enjoy it.
